Who are these two morons?

Dirk Behlau, aka „The Pixeleye”, born in 1971, is an internationally acclaimed designer and photographer from Cologne/Germany. Since 1999, he has created individual high-class solutions for international customers in his design-studio „Pixeleye Interactive”. http://www.pixeleye.de

Dirk Behlau has previously directed the DVD “Drag Racing — Turtman Switzerland 2007″, as well as shot several trailers and teasers for the legendary finnish rockband Leningrad Cowboys and other bands.

Jesper Bram, born 1973 is a renowned Danish pinstriper and artist. He has a strong background in advertising and holds multiple awards and nominations in graphic design. As an entrepreneur, Jesper has been involved in several large scale international projects since the mid nineties.

Jesper has been into custom cars and motorcycles since childhood and has been drawing just as long. In 2009 he founded his automotive pinstriping and design studio J.Bram Kustom Graphics. http://www.pinstriping.dk

Die Marke Saleen am Ende ihrer Laufzeit

Leider, denn der Besitzer von Saleen – Revstone Industries – hat heute bekannt gegeben, dass die Marke Saleen Performance Vehicles als solches nicht mehr unter diesen Namen weiter geführt wird. Grund dafür sind die vielen Verwechslungen zwischen der neuen Marke SMS Supercars, welche von Steve Saleen vor einiger Zeit gegründet wurde und den Fahrzeugen der Firma Saleen. Revstone Industries will allerdings weiterhin ihre Ersatzteile unter dem Namen Saleen Speedlab vertreiben und auch für alle bisherig ausgelieferten Fahrzeuge die Garantien übernehmen. Unter welcher neuen Marke die getunten Mustangs in Zukunft vertrieben werden, ist bisher noch ungewiss, soll jedoch bald bekannt gegeben werden!

The Smoking Tire testen den Firebreather

Matt Farah und seine Crew um das Team von Smoking Tires, hat es sich vor kurzem nicht nehmen lassen, den neuen Firebreather genau unter die Lupe zu nehmen. Das Concept Auto der Firma Classic Design tritt in einem Test gegen den aktuellen 2011 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Convertible an, welcher letztes Jahr beim Bullrun in Amerika an den Start ging. Der Firebreather basiert auf dem aktuellen Camaro welcher mit einem 6,2L V8 ausgestattet ist und danke Kompressor eine Leistung von 600 PS auf die Straße bringt. Der mit weltbeste Drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. und die Skateboardlegende Rob Dyrdek haben zusammen für den Musiksender MTV den weltweit wohl ersten Skateboard Pkw kreiert. Der 2011 Ford Mustang Monster Energy wurde extra dafür präpariert um den neuen Anforderungen als Skater gerecht zu werden. So wurden extra Grind Plates montiert und auch Grip Tapes angebracht. Das ganze wurde für die amerikanische Serie “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory” aufgenommen und einen kleinen Ausschnitt gibt es als Teaser auf Youtube. Wie immer nach dem Klick. Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s 2011 Ford Mustang Monster Energy Drift Car

Lip slides, 50-50 grinds, wall rides, and board slides are tricks primarily associated with skateboarding – that is up until Formula Drift points leader and World Champion drifter, Vaughn Gittin Jr., teamed up with skateboarding legend and business mogul, Rob Dyrdek, to create the world’s first-ever skateboard car and skateboard car park for the Season 3 premiere episode of MTV’s “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory”.

Pioneers and innovators in their own disciplines, Vaughn and Rob made their fantasy into a reality when they each got their try at maneuvering the insane skateboard car. To help them on their epic quest, the team from California Skateparks created the first-ever skateboard car park with endless possibilities for the aspiring car-skaters. As their weapon of choice used to tackle the park, a 2011 Ford Mustang was outfitted with everything from a grind plate to grip tape.

Vaughn, a former skater himself, says: “Ever since I started drifting, I was constantly reminded how close it is to skateboarding in the fact that it is truly a lifestyle and an action sport that takes a ton of passion and talent. Whether you are on a board or manhandling a car, you can have the freedom to show off your personality and style. For about three years now, I have been dreaming of taking the car control I have from drifting and doing skateboard tricks with a Mustang. I didn’t even have to mention the idea twice to Rob, as he was all about it immediately. He was not scared behind the wheel either! Believe me when I tell you, he also went BIG in the skateboard car.”

Season 3 of MTV’s series “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory” premieres Monday, July 12 at 9:30pm ET/PT which features Vaughn and his skateboard car.

2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 mit 6.4L HEMI

Nun ja, es scheint fast so als würde Chrysler nun doch noch an einem neuen HEMI arbeiten, denn bereits im Juni sind erste Details zum 6.4L HEMI V8 Motors des kommenden 2011er Dodge Challenger SRT8 im Netz aufgetaucht. Demnach ersetzt dieser den bisherigen 6.1L V8 und wird auch in kommenden SRT Modellen zum Einsatz kommen. Als spezielles Feature wird der neue HEMI über automatisch abschaltende Zylinder verfügen, was dem Verbrauch sehr zu Gute kommen wird. Dabei will man natürlich auf ein mehr an Leistung nicht unbedingt verzichten und so wird der neue 6.4L HEMI es auf 480 PS bringen! Was eine Leistungssteigerung von 55 PS entspricht, gegenüber dem aktuellen Challenger. Auch neu im Challenger wird eine komplett überarbeitete Innenausstattung sein mit besseren Materialien wie man sie bereits aus anderen Modellen ala 2011er Ford Mustang kennt. Ein neues Navigationssystem aus dem Hause Garmin ist jetzt ebenso onboard. Für die kleineren Modelle gibt es ebenso Neuigkeiten, so wird die SE Version mit V6 Motor eine Leistungssteigerung auf 290 PS erfahren und der Challenger in der R/T Variante mit dem kleinen V8 Motor, 375 PS leisten.

SEMA 2010: CGS Motorsports baut custom 2011 Chevrolet Camaro

Die amerikanische Firma CGS Motorsport, Spezialist für Auspuff- und Luftansaugungsysteme, hat nun angekündigt auf der diesjährigen SEMA einen ganz speziellen 2011er Chevrolet Camaro vorzustellen. In den letzten beiden Jahren hatte man bei CGS Fahrzeuge von Ford umgebaut und ausgestellt, den ReFlex und Flatback Mustang, nun ist man zu Chevrolet gewechselt. Der neue Camaro wird dabei durch verschiedenste Produkte aus dem Zubehörmarkt aufgewertet, so wird er ein custom paint job bekommen. Eine Motorhaube im ZR1 Stil, ein Bodykit aus dem Hause ACS, eigens hergestellte Ledersitze von Pecca, sowie eine Auspuffanlage von CGS und einen Twin-Screw Kompressor, welcher den Camaro zu einer Leistung von 500 PS verhilft. Wer den Camaro live sehen will, der sollte sich im November einen Flug zur SEMA nach Las Vages buchen. Sie findet wie immer im Convention Center vom 2.-5. November 2010 statt.

Besides being one of the leading manufacturers of Performance Products, CGS has also become one of the leading creators of many SEMA Show vehicles over the years and CGS has built several vehicles for the Big 3.

Once again, CGS is creating another SEMA Show vehicle for GM, which will be showcased at the 2010 SEMA Show. They will be customizing a new ’11 Chevy Camaro.

This new GM muscle car will feature custom paint, the Camaro will feature a ZR1 influenced hood, and body kit by ACS. The CGS team is also designing and building handmade chrome moldings. Custom leather from Pecca Leather, of course one of CGS’s Cat-Back Exhaust Systems, and Whipple Ind. new Camaro twin screw supercharger producing close to 500hp.

As illustrated in the rendering, 22″ wheels up front a set of 24″x15″ rear wheels by Genuine Boyds, Pirelli’s new 405/25/24″ rear tires, the rear wheels and tires will be stuffed under the back without any type fender fairing. All the rear suspension will be replaced with Chris Alston’s Fab 9 rear end with a latter bar and coil over suspension.

2010 SMS Supercars 460 Mustang

Steve Saleen feiert zusammen mit dem neuen 2010 SMS Supercars 460 Mustang sein 25. Firmenjubiläum und natürlich auch 45 Jahre Mustang. Da ist es nicht verwunderlich das Steve wiedermal einen Traum von einem Mustang auf die Straße bringt, welche in Sachen Leistung, keine Wünsche offen lässt. Den neuen SMS Mustang wird es daher in zwei Varianten geben. Den normalen 460 und den 460X Mustang. Die kleinere Version hat einen Kompressor geladenen 4.7L V8 welcher 470 PS an Leistung auf die Straße bringen wird und der 460 wird mit dem 5.0L V8 und 655 PS ausgeliefert. In Sachen Schaltung gibt es beim 460 ein manuelles 5-Gang Getriebe und beim 460X ein manuelles 6-Gang! Beide Varianten kommen mit umfangreichen Umbauarbeiten, so wurde wie meistens bei Saleen die komplette Front erneuert inklusive einer neuen Haube mit seitlichen Lufteinlässen an der Hutze, Front- und Heckspoiler, Diffuser und neue 20 Zoll Felgen kommen ebenfalls zum Einsatz. Abgerundet wird alles dank des neues Fahrwerks, neuen Bremsen und einem neuen Interior.

Steve Saleen ponies up, celebrates 25 years in the business and 45 years of Mustangs with 2010 SMS 460 Mustang

Orange County, California. (April 17, 2009) Steve Saleen, his name being synonymous with fast Mustangs, would not be Steve if he kept his hands off Ford’s newest pony. On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the launch of the original Mustang in 1964, and in reflection on his 25 year association with America’s iconic sports car, Steve celebrates with Mustang aficionados from around the world in launching first sketches of the 2010 SMS 460 and SMS 460X Mustangs at the 45th Anniversary Celebrations in Birmingham, Alabama.

Instantly recognizable as Steve Saleen’s work, the new SMS 460 Mustangs feature a host of visual and technical highlights that set them apart from the crowd. “I previewed many of the features of my newest Mustang with the 25th anniversary car I showed last year,” says SMS Supercars CEO and President Steve Saleen.

The front fascia treatment, the SMS Red Butterfly Air Induction HoodTM, the front and side splitters, the rear fascia and diffuser with the high down-force rear wing showed the way Steve Saleen is looking at Mustangs today. “You have to go with the times. While the Mustang remains an icon, Ford has done a very good job with the 2010 model. I wanted to interpret it using my signature to create the latest Steve Saleen version of this American favorite.”

The SMS 460 Mustang offers a 4.6 liter V8 engine featuring a minimum 470 hp and 427 ft-lb of torque, while the even more powerful SMS 460X Mustang engine with all new internal and headwork delivers 655 hp and 600 ft-lb out of the enlarged 5.0 liter V8. Both use the new (patent pending) SMS 296 Supercharger presented last week at the New York International Auto Show. Transmission options are a 5-speed automatic or 5-speed manual on the 460 or a 6-speed SMST manual on the top of the line 460X.

Performance for both cars is expectedly striking. The 460 Mustang accelerates from 0 to 60 in the low 4 seconds, while the 460X manages the same in the lower 4′s. In addition to engine output, handling, roadholding and braking play an equally important role. The 2010 SMS 460 Mustangs feature Steve’s signature Watt’s linkage suspension with all-new geometry. New SMS brakes front and rear deliver impressive stopping power to match the jaw-dropping performance.

The interior with all-new Alcantara and leather SMS performance seats features the patented Signature Series chevron stripes. Dash and interior panels are covered in hand-stitched high-quality leather. Multiple seat chevron and SMS unique exterior colors are available.
