Vaughn Donald Gittin, Jr. ist einer der professionellsten Driftmeister aus Amerika und f&#228;rht dort sehr erfolgreich in der Formula Drifting Meisterschaft. Sein Gef&#228;hrt, nat&#252;rlich ein Ford Mustang und aus diesem Grund gibt es jetzt das RTR Paket bei Ford zu kaufen welche auf den neuen 5.0L V8 &#8211; <a href="http://www.musclecars.at/2010/03/18/2011-ford-mustang-gt-wird-412-ps-auf-die-strasse-bringen-bei-geringerem-verbrauch">2011 Ford Mustang GT</a> basiert!<br />
Dieses Paket beinhaltet ein neues Fahrwerk bestehend aus neuen Federn und Sto&#223;d&#228;mpfern welche den Mustang um fast 4 cm n&#228;her an die speziellen 19 Zoll RTR Felgen mit Falken FK452 Reifen, bringen. Zus&#228;tzlich wurden komplett neue Stabilisatoren eingebaut um das Coupe auf der Spur zu halten. Unter der Haube wurde lediglich ein K&#038;N Luftfilter verbaut, ein Chiptuning und ein neuer Auspufftopf bringen insgesamt 9 PS an Mehrleistung und somit 421 PS f&#252;r den GT. F&#252;r das Auge und f&#252;r die Aerodynamik gibt es zudem einen Frontspoiler aus Aluminium, ein paar zus&#228;tzlich Aufkleber f&#252;r das RTR Design. Im Innenraum gibt es neben einem neuen Ganghebel auch neue Fu&#223;matten und jede Menge RTR Logos. Das komplette Paket wird &#252;brigens f&#252;r 7895 Dollar angeboten, bisher nur f&#252;r den GT. <p><strong>CONTEXT / BACKGROUND</strong><br />
Professional driver Vaughn Gittin Jr. knows what Mustangs can do – and he wanted to share that knowledge with Mustang enthusiasts who appreciate the car&#8217;s power and capability. Mustang RTR is Gittin Jr.&#8217;s vision for introducing a new generation of owners to Mustang, while catering to traditional Mustang enthusiasts. He helped develop the RTR package, which provides performance and appearance upgrades, to allow pony car lovers to make the most of their driving experience.</p>
<p><strong>DETAILS</strong></p>
<p>The 2011 Ford Mustang is known for its incredible performance and impressive looks, and now there&#8217;s a new package that takes those qualities one step further – Mustang RTR. The dealer-installed package from Vaughn Gittin Jr., driver of the Monster Energy/Falken Tire 2011 Mustang GT in Formula Drift, and Ford Racing Performance Parts, is aimed toward a new generation of Mustang owners.</p>
<p>The performance upgrade comes with Ford Racing calibration with a high-flow filter and high-performance Falken FK-452 tires, which offer precise handling from five linear ribs and three-dimensional rounded blocks. Stiffer, wide steel belts offer greater tread rigidity, superior grip and high-speed stability, and high-tension carcass and high turn-up construction increase handling response and high-speed stability.</p>
<p>Other performance upgrades include:</p>
<p>    * Unique Mustang RTR 19&#215;9.5-inch wheels<br />
    * Ford Racing mufflers<br />
    * Ford Racing handling pack (performance-tuned dampers, bars and springs)</p>
<p>Mustang RTR commands attention with unique styling that is highlighted by a chin spoiler with splitter and supports, rocker splitters, a rear diffuser and aluminum rear spoiler. A distinctive Mustang RTR stripe scheme adds more distinction. The interior showcases RTR-exclusive floor mats, shifter knob and emblems.</p>
<p>The package was designed and manufactured in partnership with Michigan-based Classic Design Concepts, which has a reputation for quality and style. Die Dodge Viper ist ein echter Sportwagen und Sportwagen wollen nat&#252;rlich auch mal auf die Rennstrecke. Dodge hat nun ein Sondermodell angek&#252;ndigt, welches zusammen mit den Entwicklern von SRT rein f&#252;r die Rennstrecke konzipiert ist, die Dodge Viper ACR-X. Mit zus&#228;tzlicher Leistung gegen&#252;ber dem Serienmodell, hei&#223;t es nun Schl&#252;ssel reinstecken und ab auf die Rennstrecke, ready to race und das ganze f&#252;r g&#252;nstige 110.000 Dollar! 640PS (40PS mehr als die normale Viper) werden durch neue Rennk&#246;pfe und einer neuen Auspuffanlage aus dem Serien 8.4L V10 Motor geholt. Nat&#252;rlich wurde auch das komplette Fahrwerk an die Rennstrecke angepasst und optimiert. Der Downforce (Anpressdruck) wurde mit zus&#228;tzlichen Spoilern und diversen Bauteilen erh&#246;ht. Au&#223;erdem hat sie 73kg an Gewicht verloren, einen &#220;berrollk&#228;fig und Rennsitze spendiert bekommen. F&#252;r alle die in Amerika Rennen fahren wollen, die Viper ACR-X ist offiziell f&#252;r die SCCA und die Nasa Viper Racing League zugelassen. Die Produktion startet im Fr&#252;hjahr 2010.<br />

<p>Orlando, Fla., Dec 10, 2009 &#8211; Dodge today pulled the cover off the newest special-edition model of the 2010 Viper SRT10 lineup. The Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X is a turn-key, non-street legal race car that is slated to make its on-track debut in the summer of 2010.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Dodge Viper ACR-X takes the performance attributes of Viper to an even higher level for a wide range of drivers starting with the grassroots racer all the way up to the professional,&#8221; said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO, Dodge Brand. &#8220;This project is a result of many years of performance engineering expertise from our SRT team, combined with the passion and dedication of Viper Nation, to keep the Viper racing tradition going strong on tracks around the country and the world.&#8221;</p>
<p>Combining the best performance attributes of the record-setting, street-legal Dodge Viper ACR (American Club Racer) and the safety equipment of championship-winning Viper Competition Coupe, the Viper ACR-X is powered by the SRT-developed 8.4-liter V10, equipped with factory headers and a low-restriction exhaust system, that produces 640 horsepower (40 more than production model).</p>
<p>The suspension also is tuned and upgraded specifically for on-track usage, while the weight is lightened by a full 160 pounds (versus the standard production Viper) to take on even the most challenging road course. Additional aerodynamic upgrades improve downforce, while enhancing stability and significantly improving grip in high-speed cornering.</p>
<p>Similar to the Dodge Viper Competition Coupe, the Viper ACR-X contains factory-installed safety equipment such as a factory-designed roll cage, fuel cell and race seat. Additional racing components are added to meet the significant durability and reliability requirements for on-track competition.</p>
<p>In what will be the final year of production for the current generation Viper, the ACR-X is the third limited, special-edition model to be introduced by Dodge. &#8220;&#8221;We&#8217;re going to make 2010 the most exciting year for Viper yet with specially developed cars for the street and the track,&#8221; added Gilles. &#8220;The ACR-X is targeted at road-racing enthusiasts who want to successfully compete in our ultimate American sports car.&#8221;</p>
<p>Last month, the SRT team used a testing session at Laguna Seca raceway to shake down the Viper ACR-X for the first time. Behind the wheel was professional driver Kuno Wittmer from the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge Touring Car Championship series, who was able to run consistent 1:31.00 lap times around the 2.238-mile, 11-turn course. Wittmer&#8217;s lap times were more than 3 seconds faster than the street-legal Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR that holds the production car track record at Laguna Seca raceway.</p>
<p>&#8220;The Dodge Viper ACR-X is incredible,&#8221; said Wittmer. &#8220;After a short warm up, I was running lap times as quick as exotic GT race cars. I was blown away by the power and acceleration, and even more surprised at how the ACR-X navigated the challenging Laguna Seca corners and how friendly it was to drive at the limit.</p>
<p>&#8220;All aspects of the car work together perfectly to plant all that horsepower and torque without issue,&#8221; Wittmer added. &#8220;This will be a great package for someone coming out of grassroots racing with a desire to step-up to GT level competition. Dodge nailed it with this one!&#8221;</p>
<p>The Viper SRT10 ACR-X is designed to compete in the Viper Racing League, Sports Car Club of America and National Auto Sport Association events.</p>

<p>Dodge Viper Cup:</p>
<p>The Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X will make its on-track debut in July 2010 in a newly developed spec series called the Dodge Viper Cup, which will be sanctioned by the existing Viper Racing League. Each vehicle in the new series must be the new Viper ACR-X.</p>
<p>Two races per weekend for five weekends will make up the 10-race 2010 Dodge Viper Cup schedule which includes July 9-11 at Virginia International Raceway; August 14-15 at Hallett Raceway; September 11-12 at Pocono Raceway; October 1-3 at Miller Motorsports Park and October 22-24 at Daytona International Speedway.</p>
<p>A contingency program sponsored by Dodge Motorsports and Mopar will pay out more than $200,000 during 2010. Payouts for each race are in cash and Mopar vouchers come as credit toward purchase of Mopar parts and accessories.</p>

<p>The 2010 Ford Glass Roof Mustang and Mustang GT convertible, which are arriving in dealerships now, offer consumers sun-soaked driving and top-rated safety heritage. Fans of open-air motoring have made the Mustang convertible a perennial bestseller. Those who love the sun but want to cut back on sunscreen use can choose the pony car with the panoramic glass roof, which filters nearly all of the sun&#8217;s harmful rays.</p>
<p>DETAILS:</p>
<p>The 2010 Mustang builds on the safety success of the 2008 Mustang, which became the first sports car and the first convertible to earn five-stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for frontal crash, side impact and rollover tests.</p>
<p>The Mustang&#8217;s considerable body stiffness contributes to its driving performance and has an added benefit in accident protection. While the coupe&#8217;s body structure is 31 percent stiffer in torsional rigidity than its predecessor, the convertible&#8217;s is more than twice as stiff – creating a &#8220;safety cage&#8221; that helps protect the cabin from deformation and intrusion during an impact.</p>
<p>The front structure is designed to absorb and help dissipate it before it can reach the passenger compartment. The Mustang&#8217;s front rails have an octagonal shape designed to spread forces evenly at the firewall and progressively deform for increased protection in offset frontal crashes.</p>
<p>Protective sun-drenched driving<br />
The 2010 Ford Glass Roof Mustang offers consumers convertible-like driving without the need for sunscreen, because its factory-installed panoramic glass roof filters 90 percent of the sun&#8217;s heat-generating infrared (IR) rays and 96 percent of burn-causing ultraviolet (UV) rays.</p>
<p>The UV-filtering capability of the new Mustang&#8217;s fixed glass roof is comparable to sunscreen lotion with a sun protection factor (SPF) of approximately 50, which exceeds the dermatologist-recommended sunscreen strength of at least SPF-15.</p>
<p>The glass roof&#8217;s ability to filter IR rays reduces heat load in the cabin so that occupants remain comfortable while enjoying the sun. The reflective glass also reduces energy used by the vehicle&#8217;s air conditioner system while protecting the interior fabric from fading and deteriorating.</p>
<p>Good for the soul<br />
Sun-soaked cruising is the convertible and Glass Roof Mustang&#8217;s top appeal factor. Scientific studies show that increased exposure to sunshine or bright light is therapeutic because it regulates the body&#8217;s synthesis of melatonin, a mood-regulating hormone that modulates the circadian cycle of sleep and wakefulness. Sunshine also triggers the body&#8217;s conversion to active vitamin D, considered to be an effective natural remedy for &#8220;the blues.&#8221;</p>
<p>Health experts caution that cool breezes in convertibles can misleadingly mask the sun&#8217;s harmful rays as occupants may not feel as hot as when they&#8217;re stationary under the sun. Therefore, dermatologists recommend the use of sun-block lotion or moisturizer with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 or higher prior for top-down drives.</p>
<p>Roof glass popularity rising<br />
According to J.D. Power feature content research, 62 percent of buyers in the sports car segment wanted a sunroof/moon roof on their next vehicle. Since its introduction in 2008, the Glass Roof Mustang – which is available as a $1,995 option on both the V-6 model and the GT – has accounted for 10 percent of all Mustang sales. The convertible accounts for 25 percent of Mustang sales, and sell most strongly in California, Florida, Texas and Georgia.</p>
<p>Mustang is just one Ford model that features ample sunlight and generous views. The 2010 Lincoln MKS and 2009 Ford Flex, Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX also offer sun-splashed driving enjoyment with an optional panoramic roof glass that is privacy tinted for the occupants&#8217; comfort and protection.</p>
<p>According to CSM Worldwide, over the last five years panoramic sunroofs have doubled in the popularity in North America. The installation of tilt/slide type sunroofs will remain dominant, followed by panoramic and spoiler types throughout 2011.</p>

<p>Das Tunerteam um Artisan hat jetzt &#252;berraschend den Artisan Camaro SS SA-600 angek&#252;ndigt. Dieser <a href="http://www.musclecars.at/2009/03/17/der-neue-camaro-ist-da-und-seine-kompletten-technischen-daten-inkl-verbrauch">2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS</a> wird mit zwei r&#252;ckw&#228;rts montierte GTK350 Turboladern ausgestattet werden, eine cat-black Auspuffanlage bekommen, einen neuen K&#252;hler und eine &#252;berarbeitete Steuerungssoftware, welche den 6,2L V8 zu 600 PS verhelfen. F&#252;r die Optik gibt es verschiedene Tuningteile, wie neue 21-Zoll Felgen (vorne) und 22-Zoll Felgen hinten, welche unter die verbreiterten Radk&#228;sten passen und die 14-Zoll SSBC Bremsanlage hervorheben l&#228;sst. Bereits im November stellte Ford den neuen <a href="http://www.musclecars.at/2008/11/18/2010-ford-mustang-jetzt-offiziell-vorgestellt">2010 Ford Mustang</a>, auf der diesj&#228;hrigen LA Auto Show, vor und k&#252;ndigte an, das bei der Detroit Auto Show im Januar, ein weiteres Kapitel Mustang aufgeschlagen wird. Nun ist er da, der neue 2010 Ford Shelby GT500, mit noch mehr Pferdest&#228;rken und einem aggressiveren Look. Rein technisch gesehen, nahm man sich die Erfahrungen aus dem aktuellen GT500KR und stellte mit diesen, einen neuen GT500 zusammen, auf Basis des aktuellen 2010 Ford Mustangs. Soll hei&#223;en, besseres Handling und mehr Leistung, um genau zu sein leistet der 5.4L V8 Motor, jetzt stolze 540 PS bei 688 Nm Drehmoment und 6250 U/min. Vom Styling her orientierte man sich nun ganz an den alten Shelby Cobra&#8217;s aus den 60igern, so spiegelt sich das typische Ovale Shape der Cobra&#8217;s auch in den Frontgrill des neuen GT500 wieder. Hier wurde extra Hand angelegt und eine neue Frontpartie entwickelt.<br />

Die Haube des GT500 hat die typischen Lufteinl&#228;sse um die Hitze perfekt abzuleiten. Zus&#228;tzlich hat der GT500 wie gewohnt einen Spoiler bekommen und neu, auch einen Diffuser, womit der GT500 wohl mehr an der Stra&#223;e kleben wird als sonst. Der Ansaugdruck wurde dadurch auch mehr nach vorne verlagert, was bei hohen Geschwindigkeiten von Vorteil sein wird. Das 6-Gang Tremec Getriebe wurde so &#252;berarbeitet, dass die &#220;bersetzung bei 3.55:1 liegt, so erzielt Ford eine bessere Performance, bei weniger Kraftstoffverbrauch. Die Brembo Bremsen in Zusammenhang mit dem standardm&#228;&#223;ig eingebauten ESP, sorgen f&#252;r die n&#246;tige Sicherheit in allen Lebenslagen. Die 10-Speichen Alufelgen in 18 Zoll (f&#252;r das Cabrio) bzw. 19 Zoll (f&#252;r das Coupe) sind ebenfalls neu im Programm, sie halten beim Coupe die Goodyear F1 Supercar Reifen in den Gr&#246;&#223;en 255/40R19 auf der Vorderen und 285/25R19 auf der Hinterachse. Aber es gibt nicht nur positive Nachrichten, denn der neue GT500 ist mit seinem Motorblock aus dem F-150 und insgesamt 1,8T, derzeit wohl auch der schwerste Mustang am Markt. Premiere feiert der 2010 Shelby GT500 diesen Monat auf der NAIAS in Detroit. Das Serienmodell soll im Fr&#252;hjahr zu den H&#228;ndlern kommen.<br />

<p>DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 1, 2009 – The new 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 delivers the most power and refinement ever for a Ford SVT-tuned performance Mustang – and a few surprises, too.</p>
<p>&#8220;The 2010 Shelby GT500 demonstrates Ford&#8217;s continuing commitment to high-performance vehicles,&#8221; said Derrick Kuzak, Ford group vice president, Global Product Development. &#8220;In addition to the numerous performance and refinement improvements inside and out, the 2010 Shelby GT500 is an estimated 2 miles per gallon more fuel efficient on the highway.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re proud of the many enhancements that were developed jointly by the Ford and Shelby Automobiles team last year that we&#8217;ve now incorporated into the new 2010 Shelby GT500,&#8221; said Carroll Shelby, founder of Shelby Automobiles. &#8220;Building on what we learned to create the Shelby GT500KR, this new car offers a great combination of power, handling and braking. It is truly a special car that is a great deal of fun to drive.&#8221;</p>
<p>Ford&#8217;s Special Vehicle Team used the gains made on the 40th anniversary edition Shelby GT500KR &#8220;King of the Road&#8221; Mustangs as the performance starting point and built from there. The design team, with a nod to the original Shelby Cobras from the 1960s, takes those design cues even further with nuanced improvements in both the coupe and convertible, each of which boasts a more-refined interior.</p>
<p>&#8220;Working together on the KR, the Ford and Shelby teams developed new systems to continually improve the iconic Mustang,&#8221; stated Amy Boylan, president of Shelby Automobiles. &#8220;Those lessons learned are incorporated into the 2010 Shelby GT500. This approach will help maintain Mustang&#8217;s leadership position at the front of the pack and make the ownership experience even more enjoyable.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;The muscle car segment is becoming even more competitive,&#8221; said Jamal Hameedi, chief nameplate engineer for SVT. &#8220;We need to uphold the Mustang badge with honor, the Shelby badge with honor and most importantly the Ford badge with honor. The 2010 GT500 is the car that will do all of that.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>More horsepower, more refinement, more functionality</strong><br />
The combination of added horsepower, refinement and functionality makes the 2010 Shelby GT500 a unique high-performance car. The 2010 Shelby GT500 delivers more horsepower and more torque than the outgoing model, thanks in part to advancements pioneered on the GT500KR.</p>
<p>The 2010 Shelby GT500 is powered by a supercharged and intercooled 5.4-liter dual overhead cam V-8 engine expected to produce 540 horsepower and 510 foot-pounds of torque. The redline is 6,250 rpm. The car&#8217;s aluminum power dome hood not only adds to the Shelby&#8217;s appearance, it helps cool the engine through a hood extractor.</p>
<p>The Shelby&#8217;s open-element air induction system features a conical air filter instead of a flat-panel closed system to reduce air restriction. This approach allows more air to be pumped through the engine, producing more power and increasing the engine&#8217;s efficiency.</p>
<p>A cold-air intake feeds the coolest air possible directly into the air box, helping further increase horsepower. The intake necessitated moving the Cobra snake badge to the other side of the grille to enable maximum airflow.</p>
<p>The twin-disc clutch on the six-speed manual transmission has been significantly upgraded, improving drivability and NVH. The discs on the 2010 Shelby GT500 are larger – 250 mm in diameter compared with 215 mm in diameter on the outgoing model – and made of copper and fiberglass to make them more robust.</p>
<p>A unique component of the twin-disc system is the control of the intermediate disc. Rather than floating, it instead has six straps that control the engagement of the clutch, improving drivability.</p>
<p>The 2010 Shelby GT500 offers customers improved straight-line acceleration, plus fuel savings when cruising on the highway in the top gears. Gears 1-4 remain the same, but fifth gear changes from .80 to .74 while sixth gear goes from .63 to .50, meaning that the 2010 Shelby GT500 will turn lower engine RPMs in those gears and deliver improved fuel efficiency. The new final drive ratio, from 3.31 to 3.55, enables the improved acceleration in lower gears while complementing the revised fifth and sixth gear ratios.</p>
<p>The Shelby&#8217;s distinct sounds will be apparent as always, though with new refinements, thanks to the work of the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) team. A patented resonator placed between the air filter and engine throttle body helps keep unwanted noise in check.</p>
<p>&#8220;You still hear the supercharger but not so that it&#8217;s intrusive,&#8221; said Kerry Baldori, chief functional engineer for SVT. &#8220;It&#8217;s the same with the exhaust. You want people to know you&#8217;re driving something special, but you don&#8217;t want an exhaust note that overpowers the whole interior.</p>
<p>&#8220;We spent a lot of time getting the right sound quality out of the exhaust so you get that nice, crisp Shelby sound outside and a pleasant sound inside the cabin. It&#8217;s a nice balance; one isn&#8217;t overpowering the other.&#8221;</p>
<p>Driving dynamics also are improved, thanks to SVT&#8217;s signature chassis tuning as well as new 19-inch Goodyear F1 Supercar tires and forged aluminum wheels on the 2010 Shelby GT500 coupe and 18s on the convertible.</p>
<p>Spring and dampers have been optimized for better roll control, giving customers more confidence when braking, accelerating or turning. The new chassis tuning takes its philosophy from the KR program, with a greater emphasis placed on primary body control.</p>
<p>The team also stiffened the steering shaft.</p>
<p>&#8220;All our changes were about making the car to respond as fast and as predictable as possible,&#8221; Hameedi said. &#8220;The 2010 Shelby GT500 conveys an athletic, confident feel. The shifter, clutch pedal, brake-pedal efforts and overall steering efforts are easier now. We wanted to make sure we had a nice, crisp short-throw shifter that was easy to go from gear to gear.&#8221;</p>
<p>The Goodyear F1 Supercar 19-inch tires have been upgraded, too. SVT members developed a &#8220;recipe&#8221; for the attributes and characteristics they wanted in the tire, which Goodyear&#8217;s team of engineers, designers and manufacturers brought to life. The result is better grip, better handling and better NVH properties, leading to a better customer experience.</p>
<p>The wheels themselves complement the high-performance nature of the 2010 Shelby GT500. The 19-inch wheels are forged aluminum wheels milled on both sides. The extra machining process creates &#8220;blade&#8221; spokes with very thin, yet strong, cross-sections. The spokes have a specific curve from the rim to the hub, not only for strength, but also to accentuate the offset and width of the tires.</p>
<p>The 2010 Shelby GT500 features AdvanceTrac, Ford&#8217;s stability control system with several options for performance. The default &#8220;on&#8221; mode accommodates every-day driving, and a Sport mode delivers for those wanting to put the Shelby GT500 through its paces on the track. The system also can be turned completely off, although the anti-lock brake system and other active safety systems remain in place. Standard safety equipment includes: dual stage front air bags, side-impact air bags and Ford&#8217;s Personal Safety System.</p>
<p>Numerous aerodynamic upgrades, including a redesigned splitter, were made to the front end of the 2010 Shelby GT500.</p>
<p>&#8220;We worked hard to get as much downforce with as little drag as possible,&#8221; Baldori said. &#8220;We worked to seal off the air that comes in the front so it can&#8217;t go underneath the car. We spent a lot time sealing components such as the radiator and intercoolor to get rid of all the leak paths.</p>
<p>&#8220;The result of this evolution of aerodynamics is we&#8217;ve increased downforce, reduced drag and improved the overall efficiency of the 2010 Shelby GT500.&#8221;</p>
<p>Directing the air so it&#8217;s used most efficiently was a painstaking process that ultimately will be rewarding to customers. The design of the front fascia and the car&#8217;s &#8220;flush&#8221; hood helps focus air flow. The top grille focuses air into the radiator, with a rubber flap inside the engine compartment helping to seal the system. The lower grille helps cool the intercooler. SVT engineers also went as far to block off specific diamonds in the front of the 2010 Shelby GT500&#8242;s distinctive grille to help maintain the correct cooling and aerodynamic balance.</p>
<p><strong>A meaner, reskinned snake ready to take to the streets</strong><br />
The 2010 Shelby GT500 is the most-robust design and most-distinctive model of the new 2010 Mustang lineup. &#8220;The design we chose was a &#8216;flush&#8217; hood where the fascia defines the entire front of the vehicle,&#8221; Hameedi said. &#8220;That&#8217;s very hard to execute from an engineering standpoint, but it really sets the Shelby off as very, very different from the base Mustang.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;This epitomizes the ultimate Mustang,&#8221; added George Saridakis, Exterior Design manager of the Mustang and Shelby GT500. &#8220;It&#8217;s all about power and expressing power.&#8221;</p>
<p>Saridakis said his team took a cue from the Shelby AC Cobra 427 with respect to the front grilles, which are gaping and appear ready to swallow the road.</p>
<p>Another obvious difference for the Shelby is the addition of racing stripes, which also will now be available on the convertible. &#8220;Racing stripes made their mark on 1960s-era Ford performance vehicles,&#8221; Hameedi notes. &#8220;That&#8217;s something we feel is a key part of the Shelby performance DNA – maybe more so than some of our competition.&#8221;</p>
<p>Rounding out the Shelby&#8217;s exterior modifications are the unique signature coiled Cobra badges on the front grille and front fenders, a more aggressive front splitter and lower-drag rear spoiler, which added to improved aerodynamic features, round out the exterior modifications. &#8220;We wanted the spoiler raked back aggressively to minimize drag, but we also have an integrated Gurney Flap that provides the downforce,&#8221; Saridakis said.</p>
<p><strong>What&#8217;s inside counts with the 2010 Shelby GT500</strong><br />
The base 2010 Mustang received a powerful new interior design. For the GT500, the interior design team members challenged themselves to raise the bar even higher to create the ultimate Shelby Mustang interior.</p>
<p>Using genuine materials such as real leather in all seats, real aluminum on the instrument panel and Alcantara inserts on the seats and steering wheel gave the appearance a precisely crafted, jewel-like yet functional feel. &#8220;You&#8217;ll definitely know you&#8217;re in a Shelby,&#8221; said Douglas Gaffka, Chief Designer, Shelby GT500.</p>
<p>The genuine aluminum finish panels have a unique-to-GT500 three-dimensional dimpled texture pattern inspired by racing clutch plates, braided hoses and cross-drilled racing brake rotors. The pattern has been painstakingly tuned to compensate for the compound curvature of the instrument panels. In addition, the &#8220;GT500&#8243; logo has been discretely engraved into the aluminum in front of the passenger as a nod to classic Shelby Mustangs of the 1960s.</p>
<p>This unique aluminum finish panel is fully encapsulated by an exquisite soft seamless TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin) instrument panel with a shape that resonates with Mustang&#8217;s powerful heritage. The center stack flows into the console and features a sub-flush shifter trim ring, flush cup holder door and lockable console stowage featuring the word &#8220;SHELBY&#8221; engraved in its Satin Liquid Chrome release button.</p>
<p>All 2010 Mustangs and Shelbys feature bright 360-degree rings surrounding the gauge cluster, uninterrupted by the steering column. These rings will come in chrome for the Mustang and a Satin Liquid Chrome finish for the GT500. This finish is featured throughout the interior. An intricate cobra is etched into the center of the aluminum steering wheel badge. The Shelby Cobra appears at startup on the navigation screen, and the familiar red &#8220;SVT&#8221; logo utilizes new ambient lighting to illuminate the door scuffplate.</p>
<p>&#8220;When customers drive this car, they&#8217;re not only going to be impressed by the performance and the Shelby heritage, but they&#8217;re going to see all these carefully designed details and know they&#8217;ve bought a well-crafted car,&#8221; Saridakis said.</p>
<p>Even the classic white shift knob – an icon of Shelby Mustang DNA from years past – received special attention. First, it had to be the traditional white. It also had to be specific to the Shelby. The answer was to combine the racing-stripes theme with the traditional &#8220;H&#8221; pattern found on shifters to create a one-of-a-kind knob. Like the exterior, the racing stripes wrap from end to end, encircling the knob.</p>

<p>911 Assist: When a phone is properly paired, turned on and connected to SYNC, the system is ready to assist in placing a call directly to a local 911 emergency operator in the event of an air bag-deploying accident. The key advantage of SYNC 911 Assist is speed, as calls are placed directly to local 911 operators.</p>
<p>Vehicle Health Report (VHR): SYNC gathers relevant information from the major vehicle control modules and packages diagnostic data into a usable format in a matter of minutes. That data packet is sent to Ford via an 800-number automatically dialed using the customer&#8217;s paired and operable mobile phone.</p>
<p>Ambient Lighting System with MyColorâ„¢ allows drivers to customize the interior lighting of the vehicle to suit their mood. The enhanced MyColor system features seven base colors – ice blue, purple, blue, orange, red, white and green. Customers also can create 125 custom colors by mixing the red-green-blue palette.</p>

Voice-Activated Navigation with SIRIUS Travel Linkâ„¢ is an industry-leading technology that will provide users with a unique, information-rich in-car experience. The suite of data services includes up-to-the-minute real-time traffic data with accident and incident information for 78 markets, coast-to-coast weather data including current conditions and five-day forecasts and fuel price information for more than 120,000 gas stations. SIRIUS Travel Link also offers sports scores and schedules and a listing of more than 4,500 movie theaters with movie times, theater addresses, movie synopses and more.</p>
<p>This combination of outstanding performance coupled with a fresh, exciting, well-crafted interior intensely focused on improving the entire experience will make the 2010 Shelby GT500 even more sought after, and a fitting addition to a long and proud history.</p>

Von Aussen ganz klar zu erkennen, es ist wieder ein Mustang &#8211; leider haben sich die Designer hier wenig getraut und so mu&#223;te &#8211; sichtlich &#8211; das aktuelle 2005-2009 Modell herhalten und diente hier als Vorlage. Auf dem zweiten Blick fallen sofort die edlen Materialen im Innenraum auf. Hier hat Ford wohl dazu gelernt und macht aus dem Plastikinneren, jetzt ein edles Ambiente mit Ambientlight und hochwertigen Materialen. Der neue Ford Mustang GT beh&#228;lt dabei seinen 4,6L V8, welcher jedoch jetzt 315 PS bei 440 NM Drehmoment leistet. Die Basisversion, der 4,0L V6, bleibt hingegen unver&#228;ndert von den Fahrleistungen her. Zus&#228;tzlich sollen sp&#228;ter neue V6 Motoren hinzukommen. Neu an Board des Ford Mustangs ist das ESC, die elektronische Stabilit&#228;tskontrolle, welche alle 2010 Modelle haben werden. In beiden Modellen kann man diese ausschalten, beim GT gibt es zus&#228;tzlich ein Performance-Modus, welche den sportlichen Fahrer ansprechen und unterst&#252;tzen soll. <p>LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18, 2008 – Muscle goes modern for 2010 as the Ford Mustang – America&#8217;s favorite muscle car for 45 years straight – hits the streets with a new exterior design; new world-class interior featuring well-crafted materials and updated technology; and a V-8 with even more horsepower and an even throatier signature Mustang exhaust sound.</p>
<p>Combine those elements with the new Mustang&#8217;s improved handling characteristics, more standard safety and technology features and its already-strong safety and quality performance and reputation, and it&#8217;s easy to see how the muscle car known around the world delivers on the promise of fast, fun and affordable performance for a whole new era.</p>
<p>&#8220;More than 9 million customers have made Mustang one of the world&#8217;s most beloved automotive and cultural icons,&#8221; said Mark Fields, Ford&#8217;s president of The Americas. &#8220;Making sure this modern legend lives up to their expectations has been a driving force for the team, which went to great lengths – gathering customer input everywhere from race tracks to Main Streets in cities throughout the U.S. – working to create the best Mustang ever.&#8221;</p>
<p>For 2010, the team delivered. &#8220;The new Mustang marks new levels of both power and refinement,&#8221; said Paul Randle, Mustang chief engineer. &#8220;We&#8217;ve designed and engineered this to be the next classic Mustang that everyone talks about for years and years.&#8221;</p>
<p>In true Mustang tradition, there is a &#8220;steed for every need.&#8221; At launch, customers can choose from a V-6 or V-8 with their choice of coupe, convertible or innovative glass roof, plus several new options and features delivering the opportunity for customers to personalize their cleaner, meaner-looking Mustangs.</p>
<p>&#8220;The best Mustangs have always been the ones that connect young America with the spirit of the times – and the 2010 does exactly that,&#8221; said J Mays, Ford&#8217;s group vice president of Design. &#8220;The new Mustang is close to the magnetic center of the original, fully loaded with the swagger you&#8217;d expect, but with modern refinement and attention to detail like you&#8217;ve never seen in a muscle car.&#8221;</p>
<p>It starts with the more aggressive grille, punctuated with the first new Mustang emblem since the car&#8217;s introduction in 1964. Both the V-6 and GT have brand-new sculptured front-end designs unique to each model. The headlamps and turn indicators, now integrated into one unit, are modern interpretations inspired by the 1970 Mustang. On the V-6, the fog lamps are located on the lower fascia, while on the GT, the fog lamps are again located in the upper grille – but are smaller than the outgoing model, similar to the original lamps of the 1967-68 models that inspired them.</p>
<p>&#8220;We understand Mustang&#8217;s heritage and iconic status it has in the world and as a symbol of Americana,&#8221; said Peter Horbury, executive director of Design, The Americas. &#8220;We wanted to create a face that is more muscular but unquestionably, unequivocally Mustang and carry that spirit through to the entire car.&#8221;</p>
<p>The exterior sheet metal, except for the fast-back roofline, is all new for 2010. At the front, the new headlamps, lower fascias, fenders and grille are capped by a powerdome hood that adds to the muscular appearance while functionally allowing for enhanced air cooling of the engine.<br />
Mustang&#8217;s washer-fluid nozzles are tucked into the cowl, while the antenna has been moved to the rear, both of which create a cleaner appearance while also reducing wind noise.</p>
<p>Front rear fenders feature taut, sculptured wheel flares, like a tight skin stretched over the wheels. A classic spear character line on the doors leads to a modern indication of &#8220;hip&#8221; rear fenders. &#8220;It helps give the car aggressive, forward direction, like it&#8217;s ready to jump,&#8221; said Doug Gaffka, Mustang chief designer.</p>
<p>The rear end design features aggressively angled rear corners, a sculptured decklid and prominent rear badge. A rear-view camera incorporated into the spoiler is available on some models.</p>
<p>A notable new tail lamp design features three LED bulbs firing sequentially from the inside for turn indication. The sequential bulbs were a distinct Mustang feature in the &#8217;60s and comeback to the 2010 for the first time since then. Locating the reverse lamps vertically creates a modern version of the Ford classic three-lens taillamp.</p>
<p>The best of new, heritage<br />
Cleverly combining modern technology with Mustang heritage is a signature of the 2010 model, in terms of both design and engineering.</p>
<p>&#8220;All of the Bullitt elements are the base foundation of the GT,&#8221; said Randle, noting engine and chassis improvements. &#8220;We also applied some improvements gained from Mustang racing. We&#8217;re learning constantly and always giving that to the customer on the base car.&#8221;</p>
<p>The wheel-and-tire combinations are 1 inch bigger across the board, ranging from 17 to 19 inches, which helps improve handling and braking. The shocks have been retuned on all models as well.</p>
<p>&#8220;We adjusted the springs, stabilizer bars and shocks to better balance the ride, steering and handling for all models, which results in a more engaging driving experience,&#8221; adds Mustang Vehicle Engineering manager Tom Barnes. &#8220;The 2010 Mustangs feel more controlled for steering and handling, yet retain a good ride balance.&#8221;</p>
<p>The 2010 Mustang 4.6-liter V-8 benefits from innovations from the popular Bullitt model. Power has increased to 315 horsepower.</p>
<p>&#8220;It runs on regular gasoline, but if you put in premium it has adaptive calibration that will give you even better mid-range torque,&#8221; Barnes said, adding that Easy Fuelâ„¢, Ford&#8217;s innovative capless fuel system, is standard on all models.</p>
<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s an upgrade to the most-robust, most-accessorized engine in the marketplace today,&#8221; Randle added. &#8220;No one has the reliability, no one has the upgraded options. This is a fantastic engine, proven on the race track, the drag strip and on the highway.&#8221;</p>
<p>AdvanceTracâ„¢ Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is now standard and complements Mustang&#8217;s all-speed traction control and anti-lock braking system (ABS).</p>
<p>&#8220;It gives a driver a little more confidence that in any type of condition the car will maintain what they want it to do,&#8221; Barnes said. &#8220;The 2010 Mustang improves ride quality and maintains world-class steering and handling.&#8221;</p>
<p>In addition to all of the design and driving dynamics improvements, the 2010 Ford Mustang is engineered to maintain its top government safety ratings. Standard safety equipment includes: dual stage front driver and passenger air bags; front seat-mounted side air bags; and, Ford&#8217;s Personal Safety System.</p>
<p>Interior leads in design, materials, content and comfort<br />
Like the exterior, the interior design is all new with world-class materials and execution.<br />
The powerful new one-piece instrument panel design is crafted in seamless soft-touch TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin) skin fully encompassing available genuine aluminum-finish panels. Mustang&#8217;s chromed-ringed gauges and dual-vane air register vents are precisely crafted and positioned.</p>
<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s the difference between good enough and exceptional,&#8221; said Gary Morales, Interior Design manager. &#8220;We wouldn&#8217;t accept anything less than leadership design and world-class craftsmanship.&#8221;</p>
<p>The instrument panel and console flow as one shape, another strong connection to Mustang heritage. The seats and arm rests have softer materials with high-quality stitching.</p>
<p>The new center stack design adds the latest version of Ford SYNCâ„¢, with new features 911 Assist and Vehicle Health Report. Drivers also can customize their ambient and instrument lighting through the My Colorâ„¢ system, which features 125 color options.</p>
<p>&#8220;The centerstack is quite progressive. The electronic finish panel containing the audio and climate control buttons and knobs are integrated into the finish panel,&#8221; said Kim Zielinski, Mustang Instrument Panel engineer, 2010 Mustang. &#8220;I believe the customers will really like the new look.&#8221;</p>
<p>In addition to the improvements in technology and comfort, drivers will notice a quieter ride. &#8220;It&#8217;s much more vault-like,&#8221; Barnes said. &#8220;But we maintained the signature Mustang sound.&#8221;</p>
<p>The upgraded instrument panel along with new sound deadeners added to select areas helped improve interior quietness, especially at high speeds or on rough roads. All the better to hear that famous Mustang roar.</p>
<p>With a completely redone exterior that echoes the classic Mustang designs of the past, an interior featuring world-class materials, numerous technology upgrades and an improved driving experience, the 2010 Mustang is poised to become the latest classic in the proud line of Ford&#8217;s iconic American muscle car.</p>
<p>&#8220;The 2010 Mustang is drop-dead gorgeous,&#8221; Randle said. &#8220;This car marks the best efforts of 45 years of passion and enthusiasm among the best designers, engineers and manufacturing experts in the business, and we can&#8217;t wait for everyone to see it and start driving it.&#8221;</p>
