Leider wurde nichts aus der Versteigerung des ersten produzierten 2010 Shelby GT500, welche am diesen Wochenende stattfinden sollte. Nicht das es keine Käufer gab, nein, Carroll Shelby lässt es sich nehmen seinen Auktionen selbst zu “kontrollieren” und da er mit einer Erkältung im Bett liegt, fiel auch dessen Auktion aus und wurde für den nächsten Termin in Palm Beach im April, angekündigt! Da die Produktion des GT500 bereits in ein paar Wochen startet, kann sich der Bieter also nicht aussuchen wie er seinen GT500 haben möchte. Carroll Shelby sagte dazu, das es eine Überraschung sein wird und er sein bestes geben will. Wir werden es sehen.

Erst vor kurzem wurde die Hurst Dodge Viper offiziell vorgestellt und bereits dieses Wochenende wechselte die Seriennummer #01 den Besitzer. Die in matte gold gehaltene Jubiläums Dodge Viper, welche Hurst zum 50. Firmenjubiläum baut, erzielte die stolze Summe von 275.000 Dollar. Sicher ein angemessener Preis, mich wundert es aber ein wenig das er unter 500.000 liegt, denn es werden nur 50 Stück gebaut und in dieser Farbkombination auch nur diese eine! Die restlichen kommen in schwarz-gold bzw. weiß-gold! Als Zuckerl, darf sich der Käufer über seinen Namen im Armaturenbrett freuen! Natürlich kommen auch hier alle Einnahmen einem guten Zweck zugute.

Hab ich eigentlich schon erwähnt, dass der erste Ford FR500CJ Cobra Jet Prototyp bei der diesjährigen Barrett-Jackson Auktion zu Versteigerung kam? Nein? Stimmt … denn erst vor ein paar Tagen wurde dies bekannt und somit erzielte dieser Prototyp die stolze Summe von 375.000 Dollar. Er trägt die wunderbare Seriennummer FR500JCXX1 und ist nur für die Rennstrecke zugelassen.

Ford Mustang Cobra Jet FR500CJ Prototype #1 Description:

The 2009 Mustang Cobra Jet – built to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic 1968 Mustang Cobra Jet pioneered by Tasca Ford, and offered to connect with today’s Ford sportsman drag racers even stronger. The FR500CJ is the second purpose-built, turn-key race car engineered, developed, built, and sold through Ford dealers by Ford Racing, and like the FR500S road race car before it, only a limited number of FR500CJ drag cars were built. True to the 1968 Cobra Jet, a total of only 50 copies of the car were made, and all 50 were sold within 10 days. Built with the serious drag racer in mind, along with its striking Cobra Jet graphics, the Cobra Jet features the Supercharged 5.4 Cobra Jet engine, Cobra Jet cold air kit, Cobra Jet throttle body, air conditioning and rear seat delete, crankshaft damper, Cobra Jet bellhousing, 6-speed manual (or 3-speed automatic) transmission with SFI bellhousing, stainless steel long-tube racing headers, 9″ rear axle assembly, one piece driveshaft drive shaft, single hoop drive shaft loop, Cobra Jet rear control arms and anti-roll bar, Ford Racing adjustable dampers, drag race spring kit, and unique Cobra Jet wheels. Wie bereits angekündigt, wurde an diesem Wochenende in Scottsdale/Arizona, der erste produzierte 2010 Chevrolet Camaro versteigert! Für 350.000 Dollar hat sich der Käufer somit den allerersten Camaro gesichert, welcher in etwa einem Monat offiziell vom Band laufen wird. Dabei kann er sich die Farbe und Ausstattung seiner Wahl einbauen lassen. Bereits im letzten Jahr ging die erste 2009 Corvette ZR-1, für unglaubliche 1 Million Dollar, an einen neuen Besitzer. Der Erlös ging dabei komplett an die American Heart Association.
