Gorillaz – Stylo – Chevrolet Muscle Cars

Bereits in der letzten Woche veröffentlichten die Gorillaz ihr neues Musikvideo welches mit ein paar netten Muscle Cars aufwarten kann. Ihr neues Album wird den Namen Plastic Beach tragen und die erste Auskopplung daraus ist Stylo. Zu sehen ist ein 1969iger Chevrolet Camaro SS, gefahren von den Gorillaz und ein 1968iger Chevrolet El Camino, gefahren von niemand anderen als Bruce Willis himself. Bereits in der letzten Woche hat ein User des Camaro5 Forums berichtet, dass im GM Werk von Oshawa/Kanada bereits der 100.000’ste Chevrolet Camaro vom Band lief. Dieser Camaro ist ein inferno orange SS Modell. Damit ist kurz vor dem einjährigen Jubiläum des Camaros, am 16. März, diese magische Grenze gefallen.

Exodus Pictures stellt den FireBreather vor!

Im Internet munkelt man schon lange, kommt ein neuer Firebird oder nicht? Vor kurzem dann Spyshots von einem Camaro verschnitt mit Firebirdfront, keiner hat etwas damit anzufangen gewusst. Heute war es soweit und die Filmmacher von Exodus Pictures stellen den FireBreather offiziell der Presse vor! Dieser umgebaute Camaro wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit Classic Design Concepts entwickelt und produziert. Er ist bis jetzt ein absolutes Einzelstück und wurde für den neuen Science Fiction Film Jinn, des Produzenten Ajmal Ahmad, hergestellt, indem der FireBreather sein Leinwanddebut geben soll. Angefangen hat es mit einem Camaro SS, bei dem eine komplett neue Front verbaut wurde, welche an den Pontiac Trans-Am erinnern soll. Dazu wurde ihm ein passendes, sehr böses Heck verpasst und natürlich neue Felgen mit Pirelli PZero Rosso Reifen. Ausserdem wurde ein Performence Handling Paket der Firma Eibach verbaut. Der 6.2L V8 Motor wurde allerdings nicht weiter angegriffen. Für alle die Gefallen am FireBreather gefunden haben, die müssen sich beeilen, denn Exodus will genau 50 Stück bauen und diese auf den Markt werfen, für unter 60.000 Dollar! Wer also zuschlagen möchte, muss sich auf der FireBreather Seite anmelden und hoffen das er unter den ersten 50 ist. Mehr Fotos gibts wie immer nach dem Klick.

ASC Designstudio des Trans-Am auf Basis des 2010 Chevrolet Camaro

Pontiac ist tot, es lebe Pontiac, nach dem Motto hat wohl auch das Team von ASC ein Concept Car designt welches den Trans-Am neues Leben einhauchen soll. Auf Basis des 2010 Chevrolet Camaro stammt die Designstudio des American Specialty Cars Teams. ASC hat bereits langjährige Erfahrung im Fahrzeugdesign, so stammt zB. der Chevy SSR, GMC Syclone/Typhoon, aber auch der Buick GNX, aus den Federn von ASC. Laut dem DUB Magazin wird diese Version sogar verfügbar sein und jeder kann sich so bei ASC seinen Trans Am bauen lassen. Offiziell liegt aber keine Bestätigung vor, auch von Seiten ASC nicht! Nachdem vor ein paar Wochen die ersten Fotos der Vorproduktion des neuen Camaros veröffentlicht wurden, scheint es nun so, als würden die ersten offiziellen Camaro’s vom Band laufen. Ein User aus dem Camaro5 Forum hat ein paar Fotos von dem Werk in Oshawa geschossen und dabei diese Camaro’s entdeckt. Zu sehen ist ein Mix aus V6 LT Modellen und dem SS V8, allerdings nur in den Farben Schwarz, Gelb, Orange, Rot und Silber, keine Spur von blauen oder weißen Fahrzeugen. GM hat such offiziell nicht dazu geäußert, aber angekündigt war der offizielle Start der Produktion erst mit dem 16. März!

Wie bereits angekündigt, wurde an diesem Wochenende in Scottsdale/Arizona, der erste produzierte 2010 Chevrolet Camaro versteigert! Für 350.000 Dollar hat sich der Käufer somit den allerersten Camaro gesichert, welcher in etwa einem Monat offiziell vom Band laufen wird. Dabei kann er sich die Farbe und Ausstattung seiner Wahl einbauen lassen. Bereits im letzten Jahr ging die erste 2009 Corvette ZR-1, für unglaubliche 1 Million Dollar, an einen neuen Besitzer. Der Erlös ging dabei komplett an die American Heart Association.

First Retail Production 2010 Chevrolet Camaro:

One very passionate Camaro enthusiast at the 2009 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction will come away with the keys to the first regular retail production-built unit of Chevy’s all-new, 21st Century Sports Car. This first Camaro built for regular retail production will have a VIN ending with #100001. Chevrolet ceased production of the fourth-generation of their vaunted sports car in 2002. Four years later, Camaro appeared as a surprise concept vehicle at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Was da wohl auf uns zu kommt? Nachdem es momentan soviele Neuigkeiten rund um die SEMA in Las Vegas gibt, kann GM dem natürlich nicht nachstehen und stellte nun drei Videos in Netz. Eine kleine Vorschau auf das kommende Camaro Show Car. Zu sehen sind Arbeiten an der Karosserie, mechanische Veränderungen und eine schwarze Lackierung. Wir sind gespannt was uns da wohl erwartet! Das der Edeltuner Hamann aus dem deutschen Laupheim, ausgerechnet den neuen Chevrolet Camaro tunen würde, glaubt wohl keiner, spezialisiert sich der Tuner doch mehr auf BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini und Porsche. Nun ja, braucht auch keiner zu glauben, denn dies ist das Ergebnis von 8 Stunden Photoshop, gefunden auf Deviantart. Serdo Miletic ist als User mit dem Nick Morfiuss hier zu erreichen.

Der englische Designer und Artist Ian Cook hat sich daran gemacht, den neuen Camaro mit der Hilfe seiner ferngesteuerten Autos, auf die Leinwand zu bannen. RC Cars zuerst in Farbe getaucht um dann ferngesteuert einen Camaro zu zeichnen. Die ganze Kreation wird “Popbang Color” genannt und kann auf der British International Motor Show besichtet werden. Ian Cook wird auch Live auf der Motor Show zu sehen sein um zu zeigen was er drauf hat, er wird dort ein Lacetti World Touring Car zeichnen! Übrigens hat er beim zeichnen ausschliesslich RC Autos aus dem Hause GM verwendet!

- Unique Chevrolet Camaro painting wows crowds at British International Motor Show
- Paintings created with remote control cars

Visitors to the British International Motor Show will be able to check out unique renderings of a pair of very special cars on the Chevrolet stand.

The paintings, of the Camaro Convertible and Beat concept cars – both of which are the stars of the Chevrolet stand, are the work of 25-year old artist Ian Cook from Solihull, West Midlands. But instead of creating the images with a simple paintbrush, Ian used a somewhat unique method of artistry.

The images were created using remote control cars driven through acrylic paints, with further detail added by using old car tyres. As well as cars, Ian has also painted some famous figures from the world of motoring using the same method, including Lord Montagu of Beaulieu and F1 ace Lewis Hamilton.

“I wanted to be an artist from a young age and decided that to be successful I needed something completely unique,” said Ian. “I’ve always been mad about anything with wheels and I figured that using cars to paint cars would capture peoples’ imaginations, so I experimented at home by driving some remote control models through paint.”

Ian, who calls his art Popbang Colour, used a host of replica GM cars to create the Camaro, including three models of the Camaro Concept itself, live on the show’s opening day. He also created an image of the Beat minicar concept, both of which will be on display in the Chevrolet Drivers’ Lounge for the duration of the show.

But those who want to see Ian create a masterpiece in person should pop along to the Motor Show, at London’s Excel exhibition centre, Docklands, on the final day of the event – Sunday August 3 – from 10.00am.

There, Ian will be using his unique painting method to create an image of British racing star Rob Huff’s Chevrolet Lacetti World Touring Car, a week after the series visits the UK for its annual visit to Brands Hatch.

“I can’t wait to get started on the racing car,” said Ian. “With the intricate liveries and body kits, competition cars require an extra level of detail, and that’s where you need skill with the remote control cars.”

One thing’s for certain – Ian’s next creation is sure to go with a bang. Or maybe even a pop…
