Tamás Tóthfalussy, Grafiker aus Ungarn arbeitet bereits seit über 2 Jahren an einem Cartoon Muscle Car Kalender. Mit den Tools 3dsmax und Photoshop hat er ein beeindruckendes Ergebnis präsentiert und die ersten Artworks online gestellt. Gerendert wurde mit Vray und zu sehen gibt es den 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, einen 1969 Camaro, den Shelby GT500, einen 1949 Mercury, aber auch einen 1932 Ford Hot Rod und den 3100 Chevrolet Pickup. Ich hoffe das er uns auf dem laufenden hällt und die restlichen Designs genauso super werden! Mehr gibts nach dem Klick!
Update: Pontiac GTO, VW Beetle 1300, Cadillac Eldorado (wird nochmal überarbeitet und die Frau wird er wieder rausnehmen), Chevrolet Corvette, Chevy Bel Air und Chevy Chevelle hinzugefügt! Der Kalender ist übrigens immer noch WIP und es ist noch kein Termin zur Veröffentlichung bekannt.

Anfang November berichteten wir noch von 6.000 vorbestellten Camaros, nun sind es bereits 10.000 Vorbestellungen, die bei GM bisher eingegangen sind. Mark LaNeve, Chefverkäufer von GM – Nord Amerika, hat dies jetzt offiziell bestätigt. Damals wurde berichtet, das 84% der 6.000 Vorbestellungen, für den V8 waren, mitlerweile hat sich wohl das Blatt etwas gewendet und es wird wohl mehr V6 derzeit bei GM bestellt.

Camaro kein Muscle Car? Richtig, denn nach den Vorstellungen von Chevrolet, will man sich umweltbewusst geben und den neuen Camaro als umweltfreundlichen Cruiser anpreisen. Bereits vor einigen Tagen hat Bob Lutz sogar eine 4 Zylinder Option angekündigt, welche man sich im Camaro vorstellen könnte. Jetzt hat Mark LaNeve, Vizepräsident von Verkauf und Marketing für GM in Nord Amerika, gesagt, dass der neue Camaro, nicht als Muscle Car am Markt positioniert wird. Hauptgrund ist, das man sich voll und ganz auf den Sprit sparenden V6 konzentrieren will. Dies wird aber nicht heißen das es keinen V8 geben wird!

Sicher ist es nicht, allerdings wird vermutet, dass dies hier die neue SS Version des 2010 Chevrolet Camaro ist, welche hier in der Nähe eines Testcenters in Mesa, Arizona, mit einer Handykamera abgelichtet wurde. Leider gibt es noch keinerlei Infos zu dieser Version, es wird vermutet das GM den neuen LS9 Motor oder aber den LSA verbauen wird. Ein weiteres Topmodell neben dem Dodge Challenger SRT-8.
Update: Heute ist ein erstes Spyvideo vom neuen Camaro aufgetaucht, zu sehen nach dem Klick.

Der erste Challenger auf Ebay war auch gleich ein echtes Highlight. Der 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 mit der Produktionsnummer 43, in “Pretty Blue”, wechselte jetzt auf Ebay seinen Besitzer! Für 228143 Dollar wurde dieser erfolgreich ersteigert, wir berichteten über diese Auktion.

Wie Chrysler heute bekannt gab, werden die ersten drei produzierten Dodge Challenger für einen guten Zweck versteigert! Als Schmankerl versucht Chrysler alles aus den ersten drei Modellen heraus zu holen. Sie werden die stärkeren SRT-8 Modelle sein, mit dem 6.1L V8 Motor in HEMI oranger Farbkombi. Nummer 1 wird es bei der Barret-Jackson Collector Car Auktion, welche im Januar (12.1.-20.1.2008) in Scottsdale (AZ) stattfindet, zu ersteigern geben. Der Erlös geht dabei an notMYkid. Nummer 2 geht bei einer privaten Auktion unter Dodge Händlern bereits im September 2007 über die Theke, dessen Erlös geht an eine Jugendstiftung in Michigan. Nummer 3 wechselt bei einer ebay Auktion den Besitzer, genauere Details für die letzte Auktion sind jedoch noch nicht bekannt.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ — Bidders get ready. Chrysler announced today that the first two all-new 2008 Dodge Challenger vehicles off the Brampton (Ontario) Assembly Plant production line will be auctioned, with proceeds benefiting local charities.

The all-new 2008 Dodge Challenger – the ultimate modern American muscle coupe – will make its worldwide debut at the Chicago Auto Show on Feb. 6, 2008.

“Dodge is thrilled to build on the excitement of the countdown to the return of the Challenger by giving consumers the chance to get one of the first all-new 2008 Dodge Challenger vehicles produced,” said Mike Accavitti, Director – Dodge Brand and SRT Marketing. “The Dodge Challenger is an icon and the revival of this storied nameplate has enthusiasts chomping at the bit to get one. Consumers now have the opportunity to not only own the car of their dreams, but to help those in less fortunate circumstances as well.”

The vehicles chosen to be auctioned for charity will all be Street and Racing Technology (SRT(R)) models. Each will feature a HEMI(R) Orange exterior, hood stripes, a 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 engine, and a five-speed automatic transmission with Autostick(R).

Proceeds from Dodge Challenger No. 1 will benefit notMYkid, an organization dedicated to facilitating improved understanding about youth behavioral health issues including suicide, drug abuse, eating disorders and depression. Dodge Challenger No. 1 will be auctioned at the 37th annual Barret-Jackson Collector Car Auction Event in Scottsdale, Ariz., Jan. 12-20, 2008.

Proceeds from Dodge Challenger No. 2 will benefit the United Way of Southeastern Michigan, through a private auction for Dodge dealers. The auction begins Sept. 26.

Information about the third Challenger to be auctioned via eBay.com will be announced at a later date.

Die Firma SOG bietet jetzt ein tolles Muscle Car Messer an, dabei versuchten sie alle Bedürfnisse eines Muscle Car Fahrers zu berücksichtigen. Das Fusion Muscle Car Messer featured ein hübsches Rad, welches dreht beim öffnen und schliessen des Messers. Es gibt einen Keilriehmen mit Antriebsrolle, costum Rennstreifen, einen feschen Auspuff, ein Schloss und auch ein Nummernschild auf dem Messer selber. Ansonsten soll es auch noch eine Gangschaltung und Scheinwerfer haben, letztere konnte ich allerdings auf den Fotos nicht ausmachen. Das Messer soll $40 kosten.
